New Stamp Range!!

After a whole week of an extremely dodgy internet connection, I have finally managed to get my new Pretty Princess stamps uploaded onto the website and have even found time to make some cards!

I am really loving using these stamps as they are great to colour and compose.

My own little Princess (who is now 6) did ask "Is the Princess me Mummy?" Bless. I think sometimes a little devils outfit would be more suited to her.......
I will be using the other two stamps in the range, and uploading the images onto the blog as soon as they are done, so look out for those.

Russian Dolls

I spent a great afternoon making this card for small 2's birthday next week. She saw some russian dolls in a book and was fascinated with them so when I found the Matroyshka Dolls stencil at http://www.wild-rhodes.co.uk/ they were a must for her card!

The stencils are really easy to use on their own on the front of a card or as a chain of dolls like below. I chose some pretty pink papers, adding some punched embellishements for added detail. The hair had to be blonde as small 2 still has the beautiful straight, white blonde hair she was born with. (Where did that come from I wonder? Both me and the OH have very dark wavy hair!!)

I drew and coloured the faces, but the stencils do come with a template sheet you can use, plus instructions.

How much fun was that?!!

Pretty Princess

I have had a truly new experience at work today. One class of students had a Bollywood dance class booked to help them with their research for their current 'Bollywood' project. (Last weeks henna tattoo is just about fading away now)

My small class of students were desperate to dance too, so before I knew it I was joining in a fully choreographed dance routine!! How much fun was that? The whole thing has been videoed and I am really hoping it does not find it's way onto youtube. Now, I am not unfit and love my gym and swim sessions, but dear God! I now ache in places I never knew existed. I am looking forward to seeing the state of everyone else at college tomorrow....

I have been playing around with some new designs, inspirations coming from small 1 (nearly 6) and her passion for all things pink and princessy.

I have drawn her out, and coloured her with pencil crayons and think that she will make a good stamp. What do you think? And what should I call her? Hmmmm......

Thea's Birthday

My gorgeous Goddaughter is three today! I can't believe how time has flown so fast, and she gets lovelier everyday.
I wanted my card to stand out from the pinks and purples of a littles girls birthday by choosing a red and blue colour scheme. The Cath Kidston star wrapping paper I have been meaning to use for ages. It is so lovely I couldn't bring myself to waste it wrapping up a present! (Note to self: must be stronger when it comes to paper......)

I have used one of my fairy stamp designs (as I am Thea's fairy Godmother), simply colouring it with my trusty pencil crayons. Personalising a card for a specal person makes it that extra bit special, and it's a great excuse to use my vast collection Doodlebug letters.
I have also been busy making Mother's Day cards. I have made one for my Mum and another for my Godmother. I wanted to use my newly designed circle stamps and wording, and decided to stick to a favourite colour scheme of mine, pink and pale green. I am absolutely loving the new Bazzill range of textured spotty paper, the subtle texture and colour ranges are just gorgeous.

Collage is one of my all time favourite techniques and I have found that this circle stamp fits the bill briliantly, although patience is needed for all the petals! The two different compositions and mats also show the versaltility of the stamps.

I just need to make one now for my Mother in Law. Or should I leave that to my husband? He has been known to make a card with my stash from time to time....
